Privacy Policy

RoamCircle (“RoamCircle,” “we,” “us”), operated by Alpha UMI Inc., is a marketplace where creators build and sell travel guides. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you create an account and use RoamCircle we collect your name, email address, profile photo, and — if you add them — your username, bio, tagline, destinations, and social links. Creators also provide the content of their guides: titles, descriptions, places, addresses, tips, and photos you upload.

From your sign-in provider. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, that provider shares basic profile information (such as your name, email, and profile picture) according to the permissions you grant. You can revoke this access at any time in the provider’s settings. You can also sign in with a magic link sent to your email.

Payment information. Purchases and creator payouts are processed by Stripe. We receive transaction details (amounts, status) but never see or store your full card numbers.

Automatically. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure logs technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, and we use an essential cookie to keep you signed in.

How we use your information

• Operate RoamCircle: create your account, publish and display guides, process purchases.
• Authenticate you and keep your session secure across our sites.
• Process payments to buyers and payouts to creators through Stripe.
• Generate optional AI-assisted guide copy from the place details you enter.
• Send transactional emails (magic links, purchase confirmations).
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

AI, maps, and images

When you use the “generate” feature, the place names and descriptions you enter are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to produce suggested titles and descriptions, which you can edit. Place search, maps, and location details are provided by Google Maps Platform and are subject to Google’s terms and privacy policy.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the service:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments and payouts), Google (sign-in, maps and places), Meta/Facebook (sign-in), OpenAI (AI text generation), and Resend (email).
• Publicly. Your creator profile and any guide you publish are public; please don’t include information you want to keep private.
• Legal and safety reasons, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time — see our Data deletion page. We may retain limited transaction records where required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email privacy@roamcircle.co.

International users

We operate in the United States, and your data may be processed there and in other countries where our service providers operate.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

RoamCircle is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
